Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Nairobi

Arrive at Nairobi International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy leisure time or an optional visit to the Giraffe Centre or Karen Blixen Museum. Overnight stay in Nairobi.

Day 02: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, set in the Great Rift Valley. Check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, proceed for a game drive, renowned for white & black rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, flamingos, and rich birdlife. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 03: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha Excursion

After breakfast, depart for a half-day excursion to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by acacia forests and home to abundant birdlife and hippos. Enjoy a boat safari on the lake, offering close-up views of water birds and grazing wildlife along the shoreline. You may also opt for a guided nature walk at Crescent Island, known for its open grasslands and resident giraffes, zebras, and antelopes. Return to Lake Nakuru by afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Lake Nakuru.

Day 04: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

After breakfast, check out and drive towards the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, passing through scenic countryside and local villages. Arrive at your safari lodge or camp in time for lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in Masai Mara, famous for its endless plains and exceptional wildlife density. Spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of plains game. Return to the lodge in the evening. Overnight stay in Masai Mara.

Day 05: Masai Mara – Full Day Safari

Enjoy a full day exploring Masai Mara’s diverse habitats, including open savannahs, riverine forests, and rolling grasslands. After an early breakfast, set out on an extensive game drive with picnic lunch inside the reserve. Masai Mara is home to the Big Five and offers excellent predator sightings throughout the year. Visit key wildlife zones and enjoy uninterrupted safari experiences. Return to the lodge by evening. Overnight stay in Masai Mara.

Day 06: Masai Mara – Full Day Safari

Another day dedicated to thrilling wildlife encounters in Masai Mara. Explore different sections of the reserve, including the Mara River area, particularly famous during the Great Migration season. Witness large herds of wildebeest and zebras, along with hippos and crocodiles in the river. Break for lunch before continuing your safari adventure. Return to the lodge by evening for relaxation and dinner. Overnight stay in Masai Mara.

Day 07: Masai Mara – Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park via Nairobi. Arrive and check in to your lodge. Evening at leisure or short game drive with views of elephants against the stunning Mount Kilimanjaro backdrop. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 08: Amboseli – Morning & Evening Game Drives

Start the day with a morning game drive in Amboseli, known for its large elephant herds, lions, cheetahs, and rich birdlife. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. Enjoy an evening game drive with spectacular Kilimanjaro views (weather permitting). Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 09: Amboseli – Full Day Exploration

Enjoy a relaxed day exploring Amboseli’s open plains, swamps, and observation points. The park offers exceptional photography opportunities, especially of elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 10: Amboseli – Nairobi – Departure

After breakfast, transfer back to Nairobi by road or flight for your onward journey, concluding your Best of Kenya Wildlife Tour.
